EMO - short for "emotional." Emo is a broad title that covers a lot of different styles of emotionally-charged punk rock.
Lots of emos write lyrics. Emo poetry will powerful show you emotion (the bad one). It is best to wright when you angry or sad that way you wouldn't write about things like Sunshine, flowers and lollipops. Complain about problems and how your feelings like being disconnected from the real world and how nobody understands you. The types of music you are listening to will really reflected that you emo.
Hair Colour_
Not many emos keep their natural hair color. If you want to be a REAL emo, you will need to dye your hair. Jet black and beach blonde is most recommendable for bases. Then you can add some layers of neon colors! Example: Red, Blue and violet
Hair Style_
Usually around chin length in a reverse mullet (i.e. longer at the front) but can be long with lots of choppy layers (like mine) . Most emos have long bangs that reach right under the eyes leaning to either the left or right. Better to cover at least one eye- this shows that you don't want to see the world and the world to see you. Experiment with your hair! Try give it a boost of volume! spike it, tease it or backcomb it and top it of by adding some Cute bows and barrettes and alice bands.Dress Emo_
Emo style is a combination of punk and goth so much like your hair your clothes should be black with the occasional neon stripes or polka dots. Emo clothing is often characterized by tight jeans, tight t-shirts which often bear the names of rock bands, Fingerless gloves, Lots of bangles and bracelets, studded belts, belt buckles, All-Stars, Converse, skate shoes, or other black shoes (often old and beaten up) and thick, black horn-rimmed glasses.
